Wash before brush or after?
Post By Koemix. 03/06/12, 01:39 pm

This may be a completely naive question but I ask anyways;

I have two wigs i want to wash, one completely tangled in the worse
way possible and another that just needs a little brushing.

I was just wondering weather it would be more effective to wash first or wash after.

I would wash both first, and in a way that doesn't cause more tangling.
There could be hair product or other muck that's causing some of the tangle.

And then when its fully dry, give a gentle comb with silicon spray and starting with the ends. Or if its not too bad, just run your fingers through.

That would be my approach anyway.

After you wash it let it hang/drip dry as the water will help weigh the hair out a little.

Thank you both, I'll be sure to wash the wigs first then let 'em drip dry ^^
