Permanent hairdye
Post By Pixel. 03/11/11, 09:55 am

Okay, so I want to dye my hair quite dark and I was wondering if anyone knew of a really good website for permanent colour hairdye? Doesn't have to be an NZ site, I don't mind buying anything from overseas~ Looking for colours like blue, purple etc

I have bleached, slighty yellow hair with poopy regrowth, would that be fine to dye it straight on that? I'm pretty dumb when it comes to hairdying OTL
Thanks~

It depends on the colour you want as to how it will look on regrowth. The darker the colour(ie blue or dark purple) the better it will look on regrowth, though if you are a natural blonde, it migth not matter as much, a light to mid brown will pick up the colour, but obviously it wont be nearly as intense.
As for actual colour dyes I would recommend Special Effects if you can find it, or maybe Manic Panic. eBay is your best source. Also, how long do you want the colour to last? When I was a teen, to get the brightest and most long lasting colours I used to actually let the colour sit in my hair until it was pretty much dry, mainly b/c I wanted it as permanent as it could be. You'll be very hard pressed to find a non natural colour that is permanent. Alternatively you can go to a proper salon, but that can be expensive. I used to go to a student salon and bring my own colour, that cut down on the cost.
You can dye right on your yellowy hair, but remember it might show through. Like if you pick a more warm blue the yellow might show through a tad. Also be sure to buy enough to cover your hair completely and remember the get places like the crown of your head and behind your ears, lots of first timers forget these places, and if you tie your hair up a lot make sure the underside is as covered as the rest.
