Evangelion Ending?

Can anyone explain the ending of Evangelion.. I just finished watching it...and i dont understand it...seriously made my head hurt while watching it ..

Um, It's called a "mind screw ". The most famous mind screw in history would probably be from the original Charlie and the Chocolate factory, where they are on the boat, or Pink Elephants from Dumbo.

Movies, and animation in general are all famous for all having their WTF moments. It's just... natural. xD

which one the movie ending or the series

The series was Shinji coming to accept that he has other purposes in life instead of being just being an Eva pilot (which he thought was his sole purpose), the reason they were clapping was because he came to understand that.

The Movie *IMENENT SPOILERS INBOUND* was after Shinji rejects instrumentily, which rei gave to him after she realized Gendo's true motives for allowing it to take place , Shinji returns to normal along with Asuka, instead of being in the sea of LCL, due to his will to be himself (I think don't quote me on that),the reason he was choling Asuka was because he was probably checking to make sure it wasn't another BALLS UP THE WALLS mindtrip in the kitchen scene

pretty much however I believe someone in the movie said the others could come back if they choose to, but there is a manga out there that is a sort of what would Shinji and Asuka would do from there on cant remember the name

errm yeah End of Evangelion was a shocker right?...
i cant think of any other anime that ends soo mind blowingly intense.. kept me up many a night trying to figure out its meaning
(not really keepin me up at night but it played on my mind alot)

It's okay. I haven't actually seen the ending yet. I've only seen the two movies and like 4 episodes of the anime 'cause I'm really behind with everything. I have the whole series and movies on my computer though D| All I know is it's depressing as hell.

I don't see what's so great about Eva. Starts rather good. The end was just boring and stupid (hardly intense). (Although I get why it ended weirdly)

I can't remember if I watched the movies though, lol. If I remember correctly one of them was like, an extended version of the same stuff from the end of the series |D
