Something Distinctively Male? By Lolwut. 05/04/11, 01:08 pm |
| Right. Er...
I'm going to crossplay as the character Ritsuka Aoyagi from the Anime Loveless. Here is an image: http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/files/costumes/4216/38312/Ritsuka.jpg
This is usually what he wears: http://bishounen.com/loveless/characters/cpix/ritsuka2.jpg
However, his clothes change from time to time and it's basically just mufti, so I'll be able to wear practically anything that males in general would wear. But I want to see some recommendations as to what I should wear, since I already have the wig and bandages that he has.
Does anyone know of any clothes that are distinctively male? Or anything that I could put on at all? You know, something to put on so people can actually tell that you're trying to cosplay as a male, since the cosplay itself looks pretty feminine. |D;; Or do I have to just randomly hang around Farmers and just buy something random from the male clothing section...? |

| XDDDD
Someone even suggested that I should just spray on male perfume so I can just smell like one. I don't think so. Hahahaha. xD |

| Try binding?
The jacket would be the distinctive thing, and the colour, ie. blue, is probably the male version. I see females in the pink version. Make sure you get the tight jeans in a male fashion, and the shoes as well? If of course the jeans still fit your shape that is. Try a large second hand shop, savemart, etc. And just browse the male section.
And practice behaving like a male. Observe them, and mimic. Or look at your what your character does.
Hey I am going to do cosplays so normal only real fans will know who I am cosplaying. |

| ^^ Chocolate Lynx? That thing exists? o_o
^ Thank you so much. *u*
I don't actually need binding. |D;;;; I don't know whether that should be a good thing or not. But I'll bind anyway...?
True. Tight jeans... Tight jeans... Okay. [/jots down] Behaving like a male... I think I'll end up looking like a creeper if I just randomly creep around observing males. XD
Thank you so much, that really is helpful. I'll have a look at one of those second hand shops. |

| Oh, make sure you wear guys jeans, there's a huge difference in the shapes. Really. It's not just me... They can still be skinny jeans though, that's all good. I'd wear slightly chunkier sneakers too, but that doesn't really matter.
And, if you look, even in the picture he's standing pretty differently to how girls stand. I think the advice I got on how to walk like a guy (I can never be bothered xD ) was to do a small-ish hip thrust, and stay in that position permanently (though I have no idea if you'd get sore... hip-thrusting muscles? after a while). And maybe think about keeping your shoulders back a bit, but that's more what I notice in gender differences than advice. |

A really flat chest is really all you'll need. Afterall, it's cosplay. XD Unless you're going for the mroe realistic look, then idk. |
