We also have juniors that scream and fangirl in our club as well. I feel your pain ;A;

Kewl!!! we started an anime club at our school too last year. ^-^ hope it goes well for you oh and watch out for copyright issues. Our supervising teacher got really worried about copyright after the school got in trouble for a year 9 bringing a pirated dvd and playing it in class and she closed our club down.

Anyways peoples~ Today lotsa people came and even though we were targeting mainly asians, white people still turned up and turned out to have pretty good-tier taste and weren't as picky. We screened K-On! which was not the best idea ever (Lolwut having chosen two senior males at random who voted for watching cute girls doing cute things) (this also scared away potential club members etc. etc.) but still not too bad. Next time we're definitely showing a shounen series. So far its either; To Aru Majutsu No Index, Wan Piss, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Full Metal Panic, ~~Bible Black English Dub~~, Darker than Black, Gundam, ~~Elfen Lied~~, Eureka Seven, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Soul Eater, Code Geass, D.Gray-man, **insert shounen show here** etc. etc.

Here you go. Merit Question: WHICH ONE OUT OF THOSE LISTED SHOULD WE SHOW FOR NEXT WEEK? OTHERWISE, SUGGEST YOUR OWN.

Our anime club is just you go there, watch anime. They ask for a majority vote on continue watching or not and then it just continues. 8DD

Try to get people to cosplay for school events too~ Like open days, etc.

I don't think you should try and target just one ethnicity - lost of my school's 'anime club' was white people (and we have a large asian population, they just weren't interested).

Lol - maybe find some DVDs of anime to avoid copyright? Like, hire them from the central library or something.

Which is why when we ran the club in our college we made it not to show anything licensed in Aus/NZ unless one of us had the DVDs.

The problem is the school is a bigger target for law suits than you personally are. Also they are more likely to internally audit or get externally audited. (Not likey, but you never know.) But yeah they are a government agency, the same government that sets these laws so they don't have much choice.

FMA is popular, and likely to be a hit with high school kids. FMP is funny. Some guys may feels it's too girly? Has action episodes, but most of it is awkwark teen comedy. Eureka Seven is sweet, and has cool flying stuff and action and story. Code Geass looks to be a great series.

I personally vote Elfen Liad. Scare off the whimps with showers of blood, LOL. But I think it is R16, and you do have to beware of the ratings too.

The problem with majority of popular anime is that they run for too long. It helps to consider the pace in which the club watches anime. For us its two episodes a week so the range of anime we watch is limited.

But I just feel bad since we screened 'K-On!' which was kinda failed - since when did guys like to watch cute shows about cute girls doing cute things with a cute girl as the main character and doing retarded things while trying to be funny. I don't have anything against 'K-On!' itself, but damn. I feel like we should've had some generic shounen instead. Gahhh. Just hope they didn't walk away with a wrong impression of us. T_______T Even the girls said that it was 'too girly D:'.

Anyways, FMA it is.
