Avatar Marathon - 27th of September By Pseudonym. 29/07/08, 01:39 am |
| Hey everyone,
To those of you wishing to see the rest of Avatar, the screening will no longer be at SLAS15 (as this has been postponed) but Will is going to be holding a games night on the Friday night at his place instead, at which we will continue the screening.
From 5pm, We'll be starting from the invasion (episode 10) and going through to the last episode (episode 21) - note that entry will be free. There will be Guitar Hero and possibly other console games also.
If you don't know the address:
17 Moorhouse Ave/422 Hagley Ave
************************************************************
The marathon was awesome! I'm sorry we couldn't finish it in the end! Thanks so much to everyone who came ^_^
************************************************************
Hi Everyone, I'm holding an Avatar marathon on the 27th of September (Saturday) this is the first Saturday of the school holidays. My calculations estimate it will take about 25 hours (24 mins each episode * 61)... + a bit extra for mucking around :) It will start at 3pm, and will finish about 5-6ish the following Sunday.
Please note if if anyone is scared/allergic to animals, I have 1 cat, (no dogs) though the cat will likely spend the entire time in another room.
Also, would people mind if there are no parents there? As I highly doubt my father will hang around while this is going on, lol
I will confirm the address etc closer to the time through pm, I live in Belfast, there are several buses that go very near my place, so if you don't drive/have a parent to drop you off, it isn't too hard to get here ^_^.
You're welcome to come/leave as you please if you can only make part of the marathon (I may allow for extra people if there are some who will only be there for part of the time).
Everyone should bring something comfy i.e. pillow/beanbag/sleepingbag/blankies, and any snack food you want(/want to share) - no alcohol, drugs or smoking(even outside) will be permitted.
We'll probably order pizza the first night for dinner, and decide closer to the time (even during the marathon) if we want to have dinner on the Sunday at my place or everyone wants to go home to eat.
I almost forgot - You're more than welcome to cosplay, but it is not a requirement ^_^.
I'm going to cap it at 20 including myself. (FULL)
People who're coming:
Akatsuki Dawn Aura Bob Bridget Lavi_x Narya Nazgul Mandie_Chan Midsummer-snow Princess Eve Pocky Pseudonym Pyro Riven Rocky Steve Vlad Willuknight Zorlich XhinataXisXsoXcuteX

| I AM SO THERE.
<strike>YOU WILL ALL HAVE TO DO DEAL WITH MY CRAZY FANGIRLY SQUEEINGS OVER ZUKO AND SOKKA. AAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAA.....</strike>
repeat: I am so there. Though I'd rather do a all dayer than and all nighter. Watching Avatar at three in the morning could do strange things to me <strike>especially if Zuko is shirtless onscreen</strike> |

Another option is watch half/sleep then watch the other half, but 24 hours isn't such a long marathon so I think we (I) can handle it!

| *cling* That's where they're up to in the states right?
I keep getting flashes of spoilers for the end of the 3rd season (I try to avoid, but people are not so kind), and considering not a huge amount happened in the 1st half, I'm kind of curious just how the heck they come about. xD |

/stroke
I'm really excited about how much interest there is! There probably is a limit to how many people can fit in our lounge, but it's pretty big and comfy and warm, so we should be good. I also updated the first page with some musings about time :)
*edit, also which ever time is decided in the end, people are welcome to arrive and leave as they please if they can only make part of the marathon, I am right by a bus route, but I live in Belfast so it is ~30 mins into town on the bus (I'm sure I'll be able to help take people to my place initially, but I would recommend having parents volunteer to drop people home, heh ) |
