is it cruel I want to make it?

That tiny bit of glimmer when I saw Mami was back, and then her corpse 40 secs later OTL.
But seriously! This series should be called Homura Magica instead!

My question is how much actual interference power Kyubey as. Up until now it seems that there's only one thing that Kyubey is helpless at - having Homura blind-siding him with time travelling. Four times. Yet every single time somehow, somehow Homura still stayed alive long enough to pull this again. Why did Kyubey even allowed her to live if it could help it?

This series really could go anywhere. I'm kinda disappointed to hear about a season 2 because I really want it to have a good, solid, well paced ending at episode 12. But hey, what can I say.

Anyhow. Things we already know:

1. Time travel is possible and had already been done.
2. The law of thermodynamics in this verse is nothing like ours, in which energy can be made or lost for real.

Things that seems to be the case:

1. Homura is the one factor that Kyubey has no control over. (I am not entire convinced of that, though, as it seems that while Homura surprises Kyubey, she also might be playing right into its hands)
2. Madoka's becomes increasingly powerful with each re-run, at an exponential rate.
3. Homura has limitless number of tries, which at this stage it seems like a major godmod game breaker.

Some other observations:

At this particular cycle, Madoka is unremarkable in every single way. I don't find her inept, rather she's a n00b who never had an opportunity to really master her craft. Where I'm going is that while she doesn't seem like the candidate of the most powerful one ever, she's not exactly a complete below average like Homura in the beginning. If that's what Homura managed to become, what non-magical potential would Madoka have?

Along the same lines, the other thing about Madoka is that she is disturbingly "ordinary" in the sense that no one else in that series are. She never had the urgent need to be a Magical Girl, and I found it bizarre that Kyubey hasn't manufactured a few crisis to push her yet. Is it because it's above what it's capable of, or does he know that another factor, say Homura is far more competent to mess up everything without anyone else's help?
