What other cosplay activities would you like?

I am just throwing out some ideas here.

*Look-a-like contest (no prizes or maybe certificates)

*anime dance contest or performance - have the screen playing the dance while people dance in front of it. Or getting the single ladies cosplay dancers etc up on the mainstage (again same as above)

* anime karaoke

What do you guys think and do you think they would work, go down okay with the crowd? Or would it freak too many people out to perform up on the stage?

I have been meaning to Email Bill about a Cosplay Concert at Geddon...damn sewing and work get in the way...LOL

I think these will go down well, from what I have seen Cosplayers LOVE being on Stage ;D

maybe offering the chance to do skits? I'm sure theres quite a few skit ideas people have but simplicity of the outfits make them think twice about entering comps.

It'd be kind of cool (as an idea for one kind of skit maybe, idk?) to see real life re-enactments of well known video game/anime scenes, actually, and I'm sure there are cosplayers who'd like to re-enact them.

THIS. I've had a dream skit in mind for over a year, but because the characters are simple/overdone I haven't been able to rope people in for the comp.

And a lookalike contest sounds like fun too! Very Happy

Cosplay prop battles? Like, if you props and did cheesy battles. Sorta like the Kamehameha contest but with props y/y?

Aaaahhh I would be very excited if there was a chance to perform more skits... This would also offer an opportunity for crossover skits, which you hardly ever see in the comp. 8DDD Also more chances for anime dances! Everyone loves a good dance!

My only issue would be that I'm too much of a perfectionist to want to perform anything that wasn't ready (performance wise), and everyone knows how hectic things get in the lead up to Geddon. :/ BUT THIS SAID. Super keen.

Karaoke would also be awesome, though I don't know if I'm brave enough to sing on the main stage XD

I agree with everyone else on the 'need more skits' thing! And re-enacting scenes from things is another thing I'd be interested in-- several of my characters are ones I've always wanted to recreate scenes for, but there simply isn't time in the cosplay comp., or leeway for easier outfits.

Actually, maybe it'd be cool to have, like, a general performance contest? Where we don't have to worry about our outfits, just the quality of what we show onstage. Like, for the Ples outfit I'm working on, I desperately want to figure out some kind of performance using the song 'Confrontation' from Jekyll & Hyde, but as it stands there'd be nowhere to perform it even if I did get it sussed. I'd love for that to change.

I think we all just want to have a bit more of an opportunity to strut our stuff onstage in our hall cosplays. >XD

EDIT: also karaoke would be awesome. I've always wanted to do karaoke onstage for something, but I haven't had the chance.

I know that the anime kareoke was fun at the NZAE and I think that it would work well at Armageddon. I am not sure if we would be able to get some time of the main stage, but it might be worth asking.

I like the idea of people having the oppurtunity to perform dances on the stage, as they seem to spring up everywhere around the convention.

I also like the idea of being able to perform skits as well or having a performance only competition as well.

Again only kudos and certificates would be given but I think that this would work well in giving cosplayers the chance to do more stuff at the convention.

I was thinking of a dance off with a group of people of individual but its un co-ordinated?
Some other ideas that popped into my head:

Moonhopper Jousting contest
Twister or twister in arkward places e.g. toilets
gituar hero
light sabur battes
cosplay strip poker? (it came into my head sorry) sweatdrop

Don't think this has already been said (or if it'll count) but in dunedin Basaka did a 'voice over anime' thing. It was really popular and sadly we didn't really have enough time to get into it ^_^;
Doesn't directly involve cosplay but could interest cosplayers non the less?
