New Auckgeddon dates

It really sucks that this had to happen, I know quite a few people who won't be able to make it/only will come for one day because of this ):
At least it's just for one year, and the rugby will help our economy heaps, I guess these things just happen sometimes.

The Rugby world cup can't of booked out everything all year, next year right ? Surly there has to be another week in the year that works out much better for Auckland Armageddon ?

All the weeks before are booked out. Even if it's not the RWC, there are other events that will have bookings every year. So who knows how many if any other weekends are available. A large venue like that will try to have as many organisations book it as possible, they need to recover the costs of having a venue like that, and keep the staff employed, lest they go elsewhere. I think Bill will have tried his best.

And yes the showgrounds is booked out well in advance the choice had to be made quite a while ago.

I think he's made the best of a bad situation - I'm a little worried about booking accommodation though!

Next Auckgeddon will be my first time in the competition, and I was so looking forward to meeting heaps of people on CNZ. I'll be able to attend all the days, but it looks like the majority of everyone else...can't.

C'mon guys, think of it as an extra week to work on cosplays, if you still can come and an excuse to work on something really big/awesome/accurate/whateveryouaimfor if you can't. SHIII~ REMEMBER HOW AMAZING EVERYONE WAS THIS YEAR?

I think I'm one of the few people happy with this. Smile

I will be doing courses next year but they will only be short part time courses as well as a few classes so I don't think I will have exams for those, lol. As for working, well I'm not currently, so that's something that I don't need to worry about ... for now anyway. Razz

Although my situation could very well change, then I might be grumbling about this along with everyone else, but we shall see.

Hopefully there will be some extra events on for the extra days, if there are not, I will still go to Auckland for the full 4 days, attend the days/events I want and use the extra time to catch up with friends. More days/time = means more fun in my books! Wink

Start talking/emailing the motels that you stayed at now. Get an idea of what availability is like. The RWC should be finished by this weekend. Thats why Bill booked the weekend after the finish of the RWC. :)

I don't think its fair that they made it longer since most exams are around that time...
One of the people that came with us had to missout on monday, it'd be worse for them knowing they'll have to miss 2 days due to exams... D:

Halloween cosplay hadnt thought of that.
But i am in the same boat as some of the others its 3rd year at uni and i am sure that at least two of my exams will be on those days. i mean i had three during that time this year. But i was still able to make it to all three days. So as long as you study hard before hand its not really too much of a problem and its good to take a break from study.

I got tired out by the third day this year and i'm third year at uni as well next year so I'll be able to come but for probably 2 or 3 days if I am lucky.

I'm not actually too bothered. I may or may not have exams at that time, although i think usually my uni has exams in november.
And i think of it this way: FRIDAY AND MONDAYS MAY MEAN NOT TERRIBLE CROWDS? (Hopefully!) whee

Just checked my exam dates for next year, for Massey they start on the 31st of October. So...I can go to the first 2 days, maybe all 3. YAY.

Yeah I agree. This does have some bad timing with exams but the again I'm dedicated to wag school for it hahahaha >.> Teachers can't see this XD. But yeah it's now to the point of the Southern Cosplayers of the North Island and The South Island being allowed to come up and hang for us. My main concern is ticket pricing....
