Hayao Miyazaki By Ginger Ninja. 08/09/08, 10:36 am |
| I am rather addicted to his movies at the moment. I cant really decide a fav. Although I was thinking of cosplaying one of his characters.
What do you guys think? And what movies do you like by him? |

Re: Hayao Miyazaki By Static. 08/09/08, 03:02 pm |
| Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro are my favourites - I saw a little bit of Howl's Moving Castle, but not enough to judge. Princess Mononoke was okay, but I didn't enjoy it as much...although it's been aaaaaaaaaaages since I saw it.
EDIT oh, didn't see the cosplay bit in your post! My sis was gonna do Noface at one point, that's be pretty awesome lol. I want to do Haku at some point, too. |

Re: Hayao Miyazaki By Grassangel. 09/09/08, 12:19 pm |
| I can keep on watching Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke and not get bored of them, so I suppose they're my favourites. I quite like My neighbour Totoro though. The rain scene is cute. Haven't really watched any others aside from Kiki's Delivery Service (also kinda cute) and Howl's Moving Castle. And a bit of Naausica.
I felt jipped with HMC though because it had an ending different to the book. Both are decent, but I favour the book more.
My friend wanted to do a San cosplay before she decided on something else. I think it would've been a cool one to do though. |

Re: Hayao Miyazaki By Aikome. 26/06/10, 03:58 pm |
| Haha~! My younger sister loveloves his creations. As do I . . though I never get why everyone likes Totoro, I perfered the others waaay more. /unrelated note: I lol'd when I saw Totoro in Toy Story 3/
My personal favourites are Spirited Away because I watched it first back in the days (like, ON VIDEO and all everyday) and Howls Moving Castle because Sophie is a kick-ass character, it's sweet and . . the hair dye scene. Howl and Haru are ~~~<3
Ponyo is surprisingly great too, saw that at the cinemas and don't regret it. ^~^ |

| ^ I've seen that before! ... somewhere. It's a pretty... awesome... picture xD
I always liked Castle in the Sky most. NausicaƤ: Valley of the Wind (I can never spell that) would probably be second equal with Totoro.
I have still not seen Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke or Ponyo. OTL. I should catch up.
I watched like... four of his movies in Japanese when I was little. Apparently I somewhat understood. So why don't I understand now? |

| Yeah, I'm fairly certain the pic has been on the net for a while now. And oh man I totally fogot to add Princess Mononoke. Equally for the fact that it is a great film and was adapted by Neil Gaiman for the english release. Hell, we should just be done with it and call this a Mega Love For Studio Ghibli Thread. |
