Sweet revenge? By Hannah. 09/07/10, 01:22 pm |
| So I'm doing an english assignment on revenge, and need to find four novels that have revenge as a dominant theme. They can be fiction or non fiction and preferably no longer than 1000 pages.
Unfortunately the books i was planning on doing are proving to be impossible to get a hold of.
So does anyone have any good suggestions? All help greatly appreciated ^.^ |

| Hamlet is a revenge story. Extra points because it's Shakespeare! |

| Airman, by Eion Colfer has a similar underlying theme to The Count of Monte Cristo and is a brilliant read |

| I was told Thomas Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy and Shakespeare's Hamlet are the best known revenge tragedies. And as Kotone said, Shakespeare gets you extra points, so maybe check out Titus Andronicus, Julius Caesar and Macbeth. Though revenge isn't the most dominant theme in them, but its still one of the main ones so maybe.. ;) |

| Yes to Dumas and Shakespeare. Some modern recommendations would be Carrie by Stephen King, Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie and Horns by Joe Hill. If comics are allowed you could go with V For Vendetta by Alan Moore. Hope these help! |
