CCC Beginner Sewing lessons

So, I've had a few people say to me they would like to get some beginner sewing lessons and this week I am free to start them! (yet to see if the place I want to have them is free but shall know tomorrow~). Currently thinking these will be once a month so if you can't come don't fret~
At the moment I will only take up to 5 people. If other experiences sewers come along I don't mind increasing the limit~
(oh and also if there are other machines~)

Where: shall PM address to you~
When: Thursday 22n July
Time: 6-8pm ish~ (have dinner before or bring it with you)

I have some horrible material that I am willing to give to this cause but if you have any decent sized bits of material you would like to bring please feel free too~

For this first lesson I'm hoping to cover: Plain seams, hemming, how to use a pattern, how to follow a pattern.
If we have time I'll also go into gathering and zips~

Well this sounds good. Sounds a lot to cover in one session. But yeah knowing I am doing things the correct way is probably really important now.

I consider myself a beginner still, there's a lot I don't know and haven't made as well as need to learn.

I have found a pattern tutorial but I don't know how to read it, I can't buy the pattern from shops so yeah. stare

I need some serious help with this, it's important! I need to learn stuff I don't know for my contest cosplay too. T_T

I need help or at the very least advice. pale

If its for your cosplay contest cosplay I don't mind answering some questions but just remember I am not going to tell you how to make your cosplay ^_^

I think you misunderstand me. I'm not asking for help in making it, I plan to do all the work myself of course. Razz

I just needed help understanding the pattern tutorial I found, I need to know how to draw/measure it out, that kind of thing.

If it helps, I need to use the same pattern for a non contest cosplay as well, so I can make that one instead, that way you won't be helping me with my contest cosplay. Razz

Why am I not on the list? I really need the help and I've been waiting for a sewing meet for ages now. sad

I made it clear that there were other people I was talking to about it BEFORE I ever made this Thread. I DO NOT HATE YOU nor have I ever. Please do not jump to assumptions which I have told you are wrong many a time befrore.

There is only 5 on this list because I have NO IDEA how it will go. I have no idea how much stuff we will get through or if it will even be happening at the moment >_<;

@Emma, I don't know about first dibs... but I will try to make sure everyone gets a chance to come along.

@everyone. Please remember I am giving up my own time/fabric/patterns/experience/sewing machines/TIME to do this for you. I don't mind doing it but please remember I am no professional and am trying my best to give help when and where I can.

You find it offensive ? How about the feeling of being rejected or being skipped ? And it wasn't that clear because Rainbowmoondust and I both couldn't understand why we were both missed out on the list. This kind of thing has never happened before so didn't know what to expect. I don't know why you are offended because I misread and made a simple mistake, AND it's easy to misread what somebody is saying online. Also if you are finding this a struggle, why don't get some more experienced sowers to help you out on this ? I made a honest mistake of skipping and misreading.

I believe that. And I think you are great for agreeing to this. There will never be enough of this unfortunately. But just keep doing what you can.

Right, so just found out that our Church office is closed today = We won't know if we can use the space I wanted to use.

Sorry guys I've tried hard to get the space but looks like its just not going to work for this time. If I'm not working I shall reschedule for next week.

The list from this week will remain the same for next, if you can't make it just post here saying so and the next person on the list can come ^_^

REALLY SORRY that this was all in the air, hopefully we can still get these underway sooner rather than later sweatdrop
