Hi,

So... my name is Aly and I am a Wellington-based Cosplay addict. I like to pick sci-fi or movie characters that are slightly obscure and technically challenging. I am currently working on a couple of costumes of this ilk from the Hellgate: London game and hope to present them at Wellygeddon 2011.

Need help sorting out this Wonderflex business e.g. where to purchase it from. Any suggestions - scream at me!

NOTE: I am also convinced that an elephant tried to eat my foot (best not to ask where this idea came from)

Cool :) I have been patterning a female emplar costume on and off for the last few years ;) Will be fibreglassing as I tend to like that medium ;) Well now that I found a resin, matting and fairing powder mix I like Very Happy Smells like mice wee! Er, that's not the reason I like it. Umm. It just sets up nicely.

Are you the Aly that has entered the cosplay contest before? Obscure sci-fi makes me think so :)

Yes - obscure sci-fi is awesome and not as mainstream as animae/manga. I like the different edge/flavour it brings to the competition.

And yes I have entered Cosplay before. A couple of times seriously and once just for fun. I picked a fiery and dressed as and acted as it whilst my friend made the costume. I was also in the Fifth Element group a couple of years ago that one best performance. I made the Leeloo and Managalore costume and acted as Leeloo - kicking my little brother's butt on a stage in front of an audience was great fun! And to think - we came up with the skit the night before.

So yeah... I'm kind of hard out. Never used fiberglass. Mostly because I'm unsure of where to get it from. But I suspect it would be a much easier medium to work with than resin based on the moudling processes I've seen. Stiffer to start with. LOL

Anyway... overdue sleep and rambling. If you'd be able to give me any advice am more than happy to swap tips =)
