I am enjoying him. People hated David Tennent when he first started, and by the end of it, they loved him. I suspect the same will happen with Matt Smith.

Its not that they hate him, they just haven't gotten used to him. Needless to say I have grown used to Matt Smith, but thats because hes good at being "The Doctor" character. I loved David Tennant before he was the Doctor, lol!

Jeez, I just hope the female companion doesn't end up falling in love with him again. :/ Getting a bit old now, IMO.

Is the new Dr Who on Prime or something, or are people watching bitorrents? Very Happy

Prime has started advertising the new series, it's in the "Coming soon" faze.

After all this time I still have no idea what Torrents are 8D.
so far I like Karen more then Matt, Matts character seems so much like Davids, but then I guess it's too soon to know.

ep3 preview looks so good, Daleks <3

Happy Squee face.

Dad flogged them off someone at work and gave them to me.
So I sat down and watched them back to back!

It is a shame that this seasons overall plot is soooo obvious.
I enjoyed trying to figure it out, but they just told us in the first ep T.T

They were very good though.
Not better, just different.

Tennant-who-now? (excuse the bad pun). Even though it's been two episodes in I'm enjoying Smith's Doctor more than I ever did with Tennant. Smith seems to be able to pull me into believing that this man is actually a hundreds year old alien who means business when dealing with threats to innocent lives.

The cinematography is waaaaaaaay better than it was in any of the past few seasons. Last episode I was kinda let down, you didn't get to see it as much since it was studio based. But with this weeks episode it seems like it's going to be more on location.

Also, Anti-Nazi Daleks FTW!!

I know, right? His episodes for the past series have been my favourite. Girl in the Fireplace was a great bit of historic sci-fi and Blink was time travel in the Who-verse at its best.

I think the fact that he's mainly helming the series is a good indication of caliber that the rest of the episodes will be.

The Library was brilliant and one of my favourite episodes. I'm fine with the new doctor but...

I want Donna back...
Who else will go 'OI!' at him?

Smith is good, but I still hate the assistant. The assistant should never be that young ever! It just comes off as rather pre-teeny.

For peoples stuck watching it on NZ TV,
First ep will screen Sunday 7.30 2nd May on Prime.

----

I don't know, I like the new assistant, she proved in the second ep that she listions and thinks things through.
And she will stand up to the Doctor if she thinks he is wrong.

Are you talking about the actress or the character, because Martha and Rose both were in their early to mid 20's. That's not counting the past Companions as well who were slightly younger still.

Re: The new Dr Who

I enjoy the new Doctor's bravado. Some of the ways he acts is similar to Tennant-Doctor (like in the way he spouts off strings of logic) but the amazing thing seems to be that it comes naturally for him and he's not trying to impersonate him. Very Happy

One thing I think I'll always miss though is Ten(nant)-Doctor's (teehee) vulnerable side. There was something about it that I found very... I suppose attractive is the word? I guess I like strong male characters with a vulnerable side 8D;
