[AC10] Cosplay Panel (Wellington, August)

For the panel would there be any need for somewhat complex hard armour, sculpted clay pieces/helmet, big old prop hammer or stuff like that? I can bring some of my stuff in if it'll help in any way.

Couldn't bring any prop stuff on the flight last night but I'm pretty sure I've got a digital copy of my portfolio with me if anyone wants to have a look at what I could bring/help with. I'm out in Miramar so just let me know Smile

Kinda of but not really, just from Geddon photos and such. I shouldn't be too hard to spot, I'll be the guy in the dark green fedora, which kind of stands out.

Oops! sorry, didn't see your post till just now. Nope, not super important.

We've been planning how we can best represent cosplay, cosplayers and how crack-like the hobby is to a bunch of folks with the right Geek Quotient, but who aren't cosplayers the way we think of it. Folks who look at costumes and go "That would be cool to have, where can I get it?", and get them going "That would be cool to have, How can I make it!" And, at the same time, have something regular cosplayers will enjoy.

I am very happy about our current plan of action! But more plotting required.

That said, meetings are going to get big enough to be unweildy if many more people join in. While all suggestions and ideas are gleefully jotted down and thrown into the inventive cooking pot, we really need people who are able to commit for the long haul. If people are not available for the following times (down below!) then the best way to contribute would be to throw ideas into the pot. Toss 'em into this thread, PM me, or email (u_ne_korn @ hotmail.com).

CAN YOU COMMIT TO THIS:
1) AT MINIMUM one day of the con (27th to 29th of August)
1.5) Honestly,
all three would be better for continuity of presentation
2) Available for weekly (maybe twice weekly) meetings the month or so before the con
3) Fortnightly meetings until then.

There is no shame in saying "I'd love to help, but I'm too busy!" Come along and support us on the day - that's just as important!

I can commit to the three days of the con and will time my next trip for the next meeting, from there it's kinda dependent on how quick I find somewhere to live.
My props, costume stuff, probably the 3D printer, and whatever else I can scrounge up will be there for the con though.

Blah! Couple things didn't work out quite as I planned (not to mention deadlines I keep forgetting about) so I won't be able to get down for this one, sorry sad
