Random gifts from your folks to help for cosplay

hehe what a long title but it says it all.
have your folks or friends gaven you random stuff that they thing might help with your cosplay?
( which in the end it mostly does help).

my mom just gave me 11 square pieces of cardborad and a foam thingy. Saying that this could help with my cosplay.
and the other day my friend gave me some bottle caps ( which I think he was just joking around)

My mum buys me fabric, zips, etc. And sometimes shoes if I promise I'll re-use them.

I was given a box full of cotton by my aunt, unfortunately half the time none of it matches my fabric anyway and have to go out and buy it

When I was cleaning out my grandma's house I got a whole box full of sewing bits and bobs. I don't even know what half of it is yet.

Most of the paint and other things I need to make props come from my Mum and her school.

mum had a clean out of all her jewelery and gave alot to me knowing i can use most of it for cosplay ^_^

my auntie moved to australia and left all her sewing stuff to me cos she couldnt take it with her

apart from that i get lots of material from friends from old clothes, sheets, anything like that

---so i have lots of random stuff that comes in handy at the weirdest times lol

um.... I've been given 3 OLD sewing machines (all need to be fixed because they don't work lol)
Also get given heaps of fabric, ribbon, other random stuff from people.

oh and the gift of my mum paying for my $100 cloak for Li from Tsubasa~

My parents drive me to events....this year at Geddon, mum was insanely helpful.

My Nanny gave me this huge load of buttons a week ago...came in very handy for the caterpillar.

I used my mum's old sewing machine before she bought me mine for a birthday present. If she finds odd bits around the house or in crafting she'll let me know but it's harder when she lives an hour away. My little sister sews as well, so it's way more likely to be given to her.

My mother's not big on cosplay anywhere outside of Armageddon, so she doesn't really do much to encourage it xD
But my father brings me home stuff. Most recently have been a plastic dagger (which I can use as a base for Suzie Costello's life knife), and a spiked wristband.
I'm not quite sure what I'll use the wristband for, but I'm sure it will come in handy for something~

Actually, it is. My parents don't give me money often apart from my allowance but there have been cases where I've, say, been talking about buying wigs and needing to make a payment and my mum'll ask me how much and give me the money.

My mom gave me her sewing machine and sewing kit.
Including the material scissors she got as a wedding gift =w=
But my parents also pay for my wigs, material costs and my mom helps me when I ask for help xP

My dad is willing to help me with cutting wood and sanding for swords and daggers ect. And he often buys me hot glue gun glue sticks...I swear he should stop buying my cell phones. I could probally use one or two for a cosplay though -__-;

Anywho. My nana got me my mums wedding skirt. Man the waist is tiny. I swear my mother (let alone anything) could fit that damn skirt. But I haven't used it. She also got me a ton of boots for my cosplays too. My aunty brought me giant white feathers too xD
