Dying wigs - two colours?
By Cactiberry. 05/04/10, 09:29 pm |
| So I plan on cosplaying Yayoi from Loveless, and I didn't realize until I looked at the refs that his hair is two coloured >: Since I'm getting my wigs from a friend who can only get them from a few shops (Don't ask me why, I don't know), and none of them have a wig that would suit it, so I was wondering how I would go about partially dying a grey wig black? Any help/advice is loved <3 |

| I won't kill you if you can't find one XD this person didn't have the white (grey?) dye and still looked good. http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2088425/ maybe you could ask this person how they did it ( if you have a deviantart art) http://eclecticmaniac.deviantart.com/art/Yayoi-from-Loveless-150077430 |

| I think Kurt for our Teen Titans group wanted to make her BB wig darker, so she bought face paint and watered it down just a bit, and used that on it? I'm not quite sure, you'll have to ask her mebe Also my friend Sophia who's doing Starfire bought a lightbrownish wig, when Star's hair is red, so she got non permanent hair dye [has no ammonia so it wouldn't ruin the wig, i don't think?] and im pretty sure it turned out fine. I messaged her over fb asking how it went, since i'll also prolly need to do that for my Raven wig >_< MAN what is with these wrong coloured wigs D: XD There's also the old technique of just using a sharpie? :) Good luck <3 |

| Start with a wig that's the lighter colour of the two, then use http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=154280 to dye in the darker colour. :3 _________________

| | Another thing you could do is buy a wig, then use coloured spray on the areas which are lighter? I've got this great coloured spray called "Kryolan Colour Spray" which I bought at Sinister Boutique (They do have a website). However, it does dry like hair spray does, so this might not work for you the best. |

| Thank you for the advice and help, guys! Aha, yes, I do plan on using the sharpie method, or at least a variation of it xD ...Actually, considering it's black, I'll probably have to use the ink. Hmm. |
