Serenity? (And Firefly of course)

Firefly without Joss wouuld be like Star wars without George Lucas. it would fail, like the clone wars movie.

Yeah that was brilliant. Cancelled 9 episodes into a 14 episode series so we all have to buy the DVD's. You can see why they keep the rights. Don't know how Josh got away with changing the name and doing a movie without getting sued!

Anyway there is always scope for some more episodes, because many would be side stories. It seemed to maybe be following the Babylon 5 style. 1st season set the scene, mostly side plots, but the odd ongoing story element, as started in episode 1. Season two should have started the same way, but built up so by the end they are dealing with at least some story elements in every second/third episode, and are some people are starting to wonder about how it fits together, cause they suspect something is there. Season three by the end the pace has picked up, they are facing a decision, the whole crew tries to sit down and figure it out. Cliffhanger. Season 4 starts out running, trying to make enough money to keep the ship fueled, but no time to concentrate on finding the mystery. By the middle of the season they are running towards the mystery as fast as possible while dealing with the odd side issue. By the end of the season they discover the planet, and make a run for the transmitter/hacker. The message is broadcast, cliffhanger. Season five they start with finishing the battle, then have a season to wrap up all the loose ends, including the crew of the Serenity finding a paying way through the 'verse. (And the love interests, ... or not!)

I would still be interested in seeing how it would unfold. Even though the ending has been spoiled. But never going to happen.

Josh Weddon has already tried every source of funding he could think of before getting forced to cut it down to one movie rather than a series or trilogy. So I don't think I can do any better.

And have you guys seen Babylon 5. Thats sort of the plot for it! Both the authors are fanboys and control freaks through and through, they both can swap mediums, TV/Movie/Comic/Etc. They both planned a 5 year Sci-Fi series. Only B5 got all five years, much success, and like 6 movies, and a spin off series (only one series, unfinished!)

But there is a community effort to write and film a pilot for a Battletech movie, and then approach the studios for funding. That I would be interested in. Esp since it just means adapting the books. And you could rip the games graphics engine apart and use it for the demo. But I think that is just wishful thinking. Of course now that transformers has been remade into movies then it may be worth doing?

I will just settle for the cosplay for now.

yeah, I think that's all the time I got for. But it would be nice to do a collaborative Fanfic script or two for "possible episodes".

Probably not.... but maybe...
I haven't really thought about it at this point.

Wellington Armageddon this year for me is a pony event, and I'm unlikely to travel all the way up to Auckland just for armageddon.
But Maybe next year... really depends on what i'm doing.
