Uhm, well, I dunno what you've already seen, but there's Bleach and Naruto, Death Note, Ah! My Goddess, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - those are the ones that I've been watching. XD

There's lotsa good anime out there, its just a matter of your definition of good XD
What kind of anime have you liked so far?
Do you like serious or random that makes no sense, horror or fighting...
Aside from the main stream ones (already mentioned)... others...
also I knew you said 'lately' as in new, but there are some old ones not many know of that were awesome back in the day... either never released here, or buried under the fandom of something mainstream.

- Higurashi no naku koro ni ... basically chibi looking girls that kill ... =P
- Ghost Hunt ... group of teens that are investigating ghostly occurences (can get really scary oO)
- Jigoku Shojo ... reminds many of death note, the only problem is each episode is kinda 'repeat' only with a different story.
At midnight people who have nothing but revenge placed in their heart access the hotline to hell, write the persons name of whom they want the 'revenge' to take place. And well... that person is taken to hell.
- Ghost Hound ... just started, its a real wdf at the moment... gah can't even think of how to explain it.
- Hunter x Hunter ... not new but an old classic. The characters are awesome. Its got similar twists and such like Naruto - especially the exam arc.
- s-CRY-ed ... reminds me a bit like full metal alchemist, only its not alchemy and isn't as serious.

Fruits basket, its the best for me cuz i like the ending XDXD

Gah, yes, Fruits Basket - it's amazing. I absolutely love it - the character design is brilliant, has a neat concept (a family is cursed by the chinese zodiac), has plenty of morals and has great elements of humour. Avoid the English dubs at ALL costs. @_@ Whilst the anime only goes up to volume 8 of the manga, it's still worth it.

Some other Anime's I've liked are Full Moon wo Sagashite, Death Note, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya (beware the wacky episode order), Bleach, and Tsubasa. Tsubasa and Death Note are well worth watching. Death Note makes you really think, and you can seriously get into it, whilst Tsubasa is just breathtaking. (well, for me at least - too be honest, the first episode made me cry. xD;;; Then again, I was a bit of a sap that week.) Again, the character design is amazing and it's brilliant how it links mostly all of Clamp's work together: Chobits, Card Captor Sakura, XXX Holic and many others are present. The plot is quite original, and the drawing style it awesome too.

...but that's enough of my rave, for the time being. xD

Miyuki-Chan in Wonderland sounds good. Might try and watch it sometime.

My favorite anime, personally, is probably either La Portrait de Petite Cossette or Trinity Blood. Chrno Crusade is quite good, but I like the manga better. Fullmetal Alchemist is another one I love, but yeah, I figure everyone has watched or read it, or at least heard of it, so I'll leave FMA at that.

La Portrait de Petite Cossette is about a guy that sees a girl in an old wine glass one day, and becomes obsessed with her. She tortures him some, both psychologically and physically, and then stuff happens. Rinse and repeat.

It's only an OVA, however. Three half-an-hour long episodes. But everyone that I've shown it to so far has liked it, so I think it's worth the money to rent or buy.

Trinity Blood is a show about vampires. And the vatican. And some age old guy who does stuff and likes having tea with thirteen sugar cubes in it.

It's pretty cool. And flashy.

Chrno Crusade is about demons. And this one demon that sits in a tomb with his dead girlfriend for fifty years, named Chrno. Then he gets woken up by a girl named Rosette and her brother who has magical powers of God, called Joshua. They have fun; they fish; Joshua coughs a lot.

Joshua gets taken away by an ebil demon named Aion. Chrno reveals to Rosette that he can't really do much, 'cause he doesn't have horns like most demons, so he has no ebil demonic power. Rosette and Chrno make a contract- Chrno uses his super-awesome demon powers, and Rosette loses her life.

They go searching for Aion, and join up with this big church group named the Magdalen Order. Four years pass. They do stuff. Plot goes on from there.

Chrno Crusade is really sad, and sweet, and it looks at some interesting things- What is evil? What do you do when your time is running out? How do you avoid destroying New York and San Francisco when you're a total idiot?

Although, the manga is better, I'll say that. And Aion isn't such a pervert. Plus, Rizelle and Jenai are like, totally in loooooooove in the manga. Which is cool.

There're some good anime things for people. Others I like are DN Angel, GetBackers, and Le Chevalier D'Eon. Wiki them or something. :)

Ive always like Elfen Lied, so cute, yet twisted and disturbing. It very well portrays the fickledness of human nature, they can be good and nice, but so often they are overshadowed by their nature as monsters. Sure, lucy wasnt exactyl an angel, but she was somewhat psyco due to how humans treated her.

Lyrical nanoha A's was cool too - soo much eye candy and kwaiiiii. I watched about 10 mins, thought this is lame gonna drop the series, and then the magic battles start... zomig... these kids are supposed to be like... 8??!

oooh, whos seen "the third" such a cool atmosphere and original story!
