Colour Contacts - Hamilton?
By gwibby. 08/11/09, 02:56 pm |
| | Just wondering; anybody know any good places for getting colour contacts in Hamilton? I'm thinking about potentially gettin some, but would like to know what's best. Best place to get them? Store vs Internet? Quality vs Cost? |

| Not sure about Hamilton, but contacts in palmy are about $60, they only go for half year and they're not solid ones either (solid contacts = really stand out)
I go to trade me, they've got a couple of stores that sell through trade me and they're waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper and a big range~~ |

| | Silver Surfers, and the place next to it in Garden Place both have them, for about $60 too, I think. I don't know about quality and such (I'm allergic), but they look okay, and there's quite the variety~ |

| Actually, Trendz (Garden Place) has a good range, and great quality. They do professional body piercing too, so they have to keep up a standard. You can ask about prices because they fluctuate I believe.
Silver Surfers is also a nice place, but I dunno about quality as I've never really asked. You can also try tattoo parlours, but they are often expensive (and they stink like #&!%*). |

Hardly :/ If you hate walking that much, take the Free Shuttle. XD But I do agree, I've been in Studio 801 once and I don't remember it stinking. Still, the stink isn't what counts here, I believe. XD |

rofl. i literally walk everywhere. only buses i take are from the wairere roundabout to town/orbiter from school to wairere roundabout/the other way around for both. (or from school to town if i'm going up to auckland for the weekend/holidays and i've got my luggage with me) i'm just saying it's pretty far out of the way compared to Trendez xD .... i'm cheap. i go to studio 801 to get pierced just to save five bucks. 8Db five bucks per piercing counts a lot when you're getting a few at one go orz |

| There is this guy on Trademe that sells contacts under the name "Fantasy Eyes." http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=1173792
Around $30-$40 each. But I must warn you, contacts can feek stuffy for the eye and can lead to infection if you don't look after them properly. So be careful if you don't normally wear them. D: |

| Even though it's the cost of a pair more, maybe it would be a good idea to get yourself a pair of the one-time use (dailies) and try them first?
They're about $8, and it's probably a good idea just to see how contacts are going to work for you. About 10% of people are allergic to contacts, and more people just feel uncomfortable and can't handle them, and it would just plain suck if you shelled out $40 or more, only to find that you couldn't use them. |

| Above all, you must consider the lengths of your cosplay and priorities for the character (unless these are just for your own use, and not actually for a cosplay).
For example, are the characters eyes really that noticeably blue/red etc? Would it really matter in a photo? How long until you want to cosplay this character, as contacts barely last a year, and only if they are treated extremely well. Only sayin' cuz contacts can murder your wallet, seriously |
