Place to buy feathers - farmers markets?

Does anyone know where I can buy feathers for a costume preferably in Auckland? I know you can grab packs of fake feathers from emporiums that are quite small and fluffy, but I'm looking for large sticky uppy decorative ones - ostrich & peacock feathers I suppose, but not necessarily.

I'm not looking to buy in bulk, I'm just after a few decorative nice ones to put in a wig, and I don't mind what kind of feather. Cheapish would be good, but I'm not too stingy when it comes to buying the right thing.

Any suggestions for places to grab these would be much appreciated. :) I'd love to provide a ref. picture but I'm kind of making this costume up as I go along, so for the moment I know I just want 'feathers'. 8D;

Any good farmers markets/ ostrich farms/craft fairs around here in Auckland?

I've definately seen the feathers you are looking at around auckland - I'll try to remember where i've seen them, but won't most crafty-ish stores have them? I don't think farmers markets would have them, but I'm probably wrong.
What kind of costume is it for? Pokémon? I can't really think of another that would need the feathers you described.

Spotlight has dyed ostrich feathers, I think they are about $20 off the top of my head. They have an interesting variety of other feathers too.

There was dyed ostrich feathers on trade me~
Seller was in Waitakeri if i remember correctly.
Quite cheap too.

Hm. When me and Chris were making our (thrice cursed) Timcampy, we managed to get hold of these 20-25 cm feathers-not decorative or anything, just plain, non fluffy feathes, which came in packets of about 5 for 12 dollars...but they were only at goldings. Never seen any at spotlight.

Try the stores like Coin Save etc, they're always selling random things like that~

I know Wellington Zoo sells Peacock feathers for about $2.50 each. Maybe try Auckland Zoo if you only want a few?

No deal, all up they were only $60 though. They were curious though as to why I wanted so many! They had to order them in, so I needed to pay a bond, for future reference if anyone wants to do the same thing~ Very Happy

hrm, cool. $2 shop sounds like a great way to get them if it was only $60 for 1200 of them! :) :)
