If you haven't read it, I really do recommend you do now.
It has to be the only book so far that's actually brought me to tears (though lets face it, that's not hard for me nowadays)

One thing is for sure I'll be going to see the movie no matter what.

MSK is practically the only non-fantasy book I've ever read and loved, so that says something against your statement. ;D

I think, no matter what you like, MSK is an excellent book.

I tried not to comment but I can't help it.

I keep looking at this thinking "What ABOUT fleyer's menstrual cup?" Keeper is one of the brand names of them.

Sorry, has nothing to do with anything, but I couldn't help it.

It is a good book. Keep in mind that I found Jodi Picoult a hit and miss overall, her books ranged from stunning to so bad that I want to scoop out the days of my life for reading them; My Sister's Keeper is one of her best books IMO. The main character Anna is such a delightful character, it's a must read.

I've read it, and I thought It quite good...but overall, you should never read too many Jodi Picoult novels, or you begin to see how unoriginal and formuliac they are.

THIS.

I have such a mixed feeling about Jodi Picoult. I get that with a book per year deal she does wry herself dry, but was it wholly necessary to recycle materials from the last book which was a recycle of the one before? Not only that, I found that precisely because she's such a skilled crafter as far as writing technique goes, it only made the lacking of substance that much more glaring.

Also didn't help that her characters seem to always be entitlement filled, self-centred with a special snowflake complex; who not only runs around does awful things but are also so, I dunno, self righteous about it. And they always are so articulate they spend pages justify their hideous act and demand sympathy from readers, which just made me dislike them that much more.

On the other hand, Picoult really do her research. No, really she does it so very meticulously, I just have to give her extra respect for it.

Duckeh, and anyone who could remember what being fourteen is like and have some integrity- avoid Tenth Circle like wow. I can't even begin to fathom the logic of "I'm a silly little teenager! I am entitled to use insecurity as an excuse to -"

Wait for this

Spoiler:

-because that's what all fourteen year old girls do! We are that stupid, helpless and have absolutely no sense of concecoinces ever! Give me sympathy while I bat my eyelashes, look, me victim me helpless!"

Admittedly I hated Perfect Match a little more, but that's another rant altogether.

...so yeah.

I mean dope I can understand, but I'm surprised she hasn't shot herself with a loaded gun and started to pull the "all fourteen year old girls are that stupid! daddddddeeeeeeee *whine*"

I guess it's a fun read if you know what to expect. For me, right after a brilliant My Sister's Keeper? Not so much.
