Memory triggers By commandercandyfloss. 04/04/09, 03:12 am |
| Does anyone have a song that triggers memories? Like I've got Black and Gold, which gives me flashbacks of GAT camp, and Oasis(by Gackt) reminds me of a few years back when there was this storm. What about you guys? |

| Anything by Malice Mizer (especially Bois de Merveilles) reminds me of when I was fourteen/fifteen and used to sing it with my sister all the time - fun times :) Otherwise any song from the Orkus Compilation 3 reminds me of my trip to Germany in 2005. Particularly Der Tanz der Motten by Ewigheim...great song. |

| Gingerbread Coffin by Rasputina reminds me flying in an aeroplane because I listened to it in an areoplane. For Good from the Wicked soundtrack, I was listening to it when my dad called me in for his final goodbye to me. Other songs too but those are the most vivid. It's weird when you listen to memory triggering songs and you go back exactly to the time and the place, the sounds and your thoughts and sights. Memories are weird... but cool |

| There's a song that goes: "Ha Ha Ha Haaaa Haaaaa, I know this much is true" which always reminds me of my high school ball, cos it was the last song of the night and I remember thinking, Dang, we should have hired a DJ from the Southside!
Then there's a song by "Eraser" (or was it "Erasure"?) which was on an episode of Scrubs- it was so hilarious in the show, and darn catchy, that my flatmate promised he would play that song in theater, when he first becomes a Surgeon. I can't stop bopping my head whenever I hear it, and will definitely hold him to that promise!!! "I tried to discover... a little something to make me sweeter...." |

Re: Memory triggers By venom. 04/04/09, 03:48 pm |
| Basically, every song I listen to has a connection to something or some memory...
So... I can't really list them all XD
For instance, Porno Graffiti, reminds me of driving now, since I've been listening to it so much whilst driving these days. |

| I Want You by Savage Garden is the only song that jumps to mind, and it bring to mind a whole jumble of memories and emotions that I daren't prod with a 10 foot pole~ Joy, bitterness, anger, sadness, happiness, contentment, love, they are all in there, and I think trying to figure out which one would be the strongest would break my head. Damn good song though. |
