Saddest Moments in Video Games

Because I get this feeling people would kill me for starting another Crisis Core topic like twenty minutes after a new one's been made, I've decided to make a 'Saddest Video Game Moments' thread so that I can rant about Crisis Core nonetheless (hopefully this isn't considered a spoiler (it IS predictable enough after all) but the game is rife with moments to touch your heart, stroke it gently for a few minutes then RIP IT OUT AND GIVE IT TO HOJO FOR CRAZY EXPERIMENTATION) and everyone else can rant about other sad things.

Basically... This thread is to list your top five (or less, is you're some insensitive jerk that laughs at other's misfortune) sad gaming moments. One rule though? No mocking others for their teary eyed times, because all of us cry over different things. Kapeesh?

Discuss each other's moments, though, by all means. And ask why these things make others feel sad, because it promotes healthy discussion.

Final, obvious rule, is to put anything really spoilerific behind spoiler tags. xD

Without further ado...

1. In FFVII:CC, when

Spoiler:
	Zack's dies and his spirit is taken to the lifestream by Angeal, with 'Why' playing in the background, recalling the memories of Angeal's death, where the same song played, and the cuts between his death and his spirit disappearing where Cloud remembers him.

2. In FFX, when

Spoiler:
	Tidus fades away, and Yuna's final speech.

3. In FFVII:CC, when

Spoiler:
	Angeal dies ('nuff said- it's a hella sad moment, and the scenes that follow with Zack sitting around crying make it worse)

4. FFVII:CC, the line 'My dreams and my pride... I give it all to you', spoken by both Zack and Angeal

Spoiler:
	when each of them die, passing on the Buster Sword with those words- Angeal giving it to Zack, Zack giving it to Cloud.

5. FFVII:CC, the lines 'Where were we dispatched to, anyway?' followed by the word 'Nibelheim'. This may not sound sad, but when you've watched the cutscenes of Zack at Nibelheim, it suddenly hurts a whole lot more.

~BONUS SAD MOMENT~

1. I couldn't really fit this above, because I don't know how sad I feel about this in relation to the others in my top five, but the sequence in KH where

	Sora gives up his heart to save Kairi.

I haven't seen in it forever, so I can't remember exactly what happens, which is why I put it here. ;)

When in Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance,

Spoiler:
	Babus said goodbye to Mewt after Remedi died and the main cast returned home. "Even if you do forget, Prince Mewt, I will remember, and remain your faithful servant, always." It always upset me that Babus adored Mewt to the ends of the Earth and Mewt was just like, "lol whatever Babus, I love my mum better "

...And in the same game, the scene where they find Mewt's teddy bear discarded on the ground.

lol. I have more from this game; I've started playing it again and I'd forgotten how sad it made me. xD

I like it how everything on this thread (other than my extra one) is a scene from an FF game, don't you?

FFTA sounds sad, though. D=

But then again, is there ever an FF game that isn't?

In Chain of Memories, I got upset when

	Vexen died. I actually cried about it. After I got over how funny Axel was being afterwards, I cried. At the next save point I turned off the game and had a good little wallow in my misery. xD; shameful

and also when

	POOH COULDN'T FIND HIS FRIENDS IN THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD AND SORA HAD TO HELP HIM! D: NOES!

1. The end of KHII
I cried for 10 minutes. LOL. Like, sitting in front of the tv, staring at the credits BAWLING my eyes out. Then my mom came home and was like, "OMG WHY ARE YOU CRYING DDD:" and I said, "Kingdom Hearts. Omgwtfbbq." And she laughed at me D:

2. 1000 Words Concert (FFX-2)
Quite moving D:

3. FFX
Okay, this whole game like, depresses me. After playing it and now replaying it, it's weird going through the game when I know what's gonna happen at the end... :'(

Am I the only one to cry when Tidus had the breakdown in Al Bhed Home after finding out Yuna's fate? It was so sad! I love how Tidus is so realistic in his actions in relation to most FF heroes. T_T He's so sweet...

It's one of my favorite bits of the game.

"'After this is over'- I said! Ugh, I'm such an idiot!" <-- Best. FF line. Ever. For once someone acknowledges their mistakes in a way that isn't utter melodramatic (see Vincent for examples)

Although, Zack's emotions are well displayed too (he actually cries when his friend (click on the first or third spoiler tags in my first comment to see who) dies)...

	You had to kill Demyx. I knew it was coming cause I'd played the games heaps before (and saved the game just before his battle) but everytime I had to kill him, I died a little as well. But I usually turned the game off just before he faded xD

Also KHII when...

	Axel died. Saw that one coming xD

Another KHII when...

Spoiler:
	You had to kill Saix, Xigbar and Luxord. I love those three. Especially Xiggy. He was so awesome and liked to poo red poo from his poo guns.

	Poor Zexy died... No explanation needed.

	Buh-bye Lexy... So sad there as well...

zOMG you didn't even mention Xaldin. XALDIN WAS ULTIMATE, no one beats Axel, but Xaldin just had excellent hair and weaponry, and his stance was awesomez

I am getting really, really, really sick of Crisis Core. Seriously, I am. And Final Fantasy in general.

I haven't actually cried during any FF or KH games.. Or felt sad... *shot for being an insensitive jerk*

The only game I remember me actually crying was Shadow of the Colossus when

	WANDER DIED. OH GAWD bawls eyes out I luff that guy to death

And the ending was really emotional too.. *sniffles*

The ending of Yoshiya/Joshua's cycle in The World Ends With You. Though I realised

In Chrono Trigger when

	Chrono dies. I know he's brought back to life, but it was still sad the first time.. and the 2nd.. and the...

In Final Fantasy (xP Pura) when

Spoiler:
	VII: in the ending, when Squall's stuck on his island'o'doom, with no one there for him. Such an emo.. VI: when Cid dies. (If you don't poison him) Its just so sad... IV: when Palom and Polom sacrifice themselves to save you. bah! damn you squeenix! V: Galuf. 'nuff said.
