Cosplay Dinner

I thought it would be a good idea to have a cosplay dinner date,
Perhaps after Doujin Overload (25th July 2009) ?

And it seems fitting that it should be held at a Japanese restaurant.
Though, some people don't like Japanese food

(I'm very picky myself, I don't like rice, fish, noodles, most vegetable stuffs,
so I'm limited to what I'd eat. Teriyaki Steak FTW).

Who would be interested?

Should it be after Doujin Overload?
(state when you think it should be held)

Japanese restaurant or not
(state where you'd like to go)

I'm interested! I reckon a Jap restaurant would be cool, but I'm not picky.

Do you mean sometime after the date of DO, or right after it on the night? After DO would be cool (although I've never been so I don't know when it ends).

I mean on the night, after Doujin Overload,
It ended at 5? Last time, (fail memory is fail)

I think on the same night would be good,
seeing as Non-Aucklanders might be up for that one day..

After DO sounds good, I'd suggest Tanpopo for the venue, but they almost exclusively ramen (I mean, they have dumpling side dishes ect, but essentialy its a ramen shop), so I dunno if that will work for everyone. I'll tell you what tho, if you want ramen in Auckland, there is no place better.

Wagamama is a nice restaurant, it has really nice toilets too ;3

It has the best Teriyaki Steak you will ever have.

i commend Genta Sake Bar = okonomiyaki, steak, yakitori and everything meat =D as well as plenty of alcohol XD lol

and its downtown and i took greg, mexialex and vanessa there last time =3 and i know the people hehehehehe regular customer =D

and yeah it should be the same night =D

if genta isnt good then masato

and i wouldnt do wagamama ... its overly priced and the ramen is bleh tanpopo and ichiban ramen are much better ramen places

daikoku is ok ... though i am rather impartial to their japanese steak don ... its so good XD

I've only been to wagamama, so I can't really compare it to anything,
Ive never tried ramen due to the fact that I dont like noodles xD
But I thought the pricing was fairly cheap

Where is this Genta sake bar located exactly?

I'd be keen for one on the night. >w< My only concern with a sake bar would be if they would kick out people who are underage? Some places do, some places don't. o_O

@JVCA It only makes sense to have it on the night of Doujin Overload, as we will already be in town, and most likely be hungry after a busy day~
And with the sake bars, I think "most" places are okay with younger people there, as long as the people who order alcoholic beverages have ID. I will have to check a range of venues about the age restrictions, and also check if it will be okay to be in cosplay.

@ Kitten There is no emoticon that can be used to express the look on my face at the moment. Take your vegetables, and cram them up your... urrrr. Nose. DO IT. NOW.

@Korona Korm it will most likely be after 6pm on the 25th of july (after DO) in the city.

@JVCA: they wont theyre pretty loose and they have other non-alcoholic options of course =D and the lunch is YUM though theyre not doing lunch atm because the chef is on holiday XD ive been eating there for about a year or so and i never order alcohol unless im with mates and i eat there alone all the time though i dont particularly like the new apparent manager but meh the food is still good though i have noticed a slight downsizing in portion size XP

@Re-l: its opposite the downtown postoffice behind britomart train station atm theres like alot of construction going on next door so theres wooden boarding and stuff next to it its not hard to find XD

If I were to bus it to Auckland for just one thing, it would be to try Sake!!!!

I think the most exotic food place we have in Hastings is an Mongolian Restaurant! (very yumyum Food though!)
