WEllygeddon question
Post By Darjery. 23/05/13, 03:21 am

I have a friend going as a little sister to wellygeddon, but shes a tad worried that she wont be allowed her adam gun prop in the arena/ cosplay parade, because of the long needle like end, and because its metal. anyone able to give me a heads up on if theyll allow it if she puts a cork over the point to make it safe to carry around in the crowds and such?

Perhaps make the end as blunt as possible or just wrap some sticky tape over the end? As long as it's safe she should be fine! Just getting into bioshock so I'll be looking forward to seeing her outfit c:

As long as the end is not sharp and poses a risk to others being stabbed it will be fine around the arena. Not too sure about the parade as I know they are frowning on metal but because its not a sword or projectile it's a bit of a grey area.

I love little sister outfits, is she wearing it all weekend?

If she does end up with it on on the Monday I would love to get photos as I'll be a big sister.

Hi there.

I'm one of the parade hosts. The rules actually state that no metal props can be brought onto the stage during the parade. List of the rules are on the parade page on the website here: http://armageddonexpo.com/nz/anime-manga-cartoons/cosplay-parade

I take it there is no sharp end on the adam gun either? It's a very hard thing to say because we've had to recently get tougher with props just due to the safety rules of the con.

My honest suggestion would be to not use it for the parade, because it would be unfair for us to let one person off but be strickt on the rules to everyone else. :< Really sorry about this, I know how hard it can be with con-safe stuff sometimes when metal can be the easy answer (you should see iwuvanime's big sister on the Monday, as she's done a fantastic job to make all the weapons con safe and 'bendy' to avoid hurting people in the crowds).

As for walking around during the rest of the con with the gun, that's not my area so I can't offer help for that I am afraid.

Looking forward to seeing her little sister all the same! I love Bioshock stuff!

Thanks for your answers, she'll be disappointed, but at least hopefully they'll allow it in the stadium.
