Hrm, looks like Bill's been busy.

The forums for Armageddon have changed, and a Dunedin Anime Day appears to have suddenly appeared in the list (spot it up top right).

I heard about this from Ryan the other day. This is probably the closest thing we're going to get to an Armageddon in Dunedin I think. Anyways it's nice to know Dunedin is finally getting something.

I am intending on cosplaying, who as will be a different question. (Ok, I am seriously considering Zero again since he's be staple cosplay, but I have others in mind) I'd imagine there would be a small turn out, ADP probably the group that stands out the most though.

I can imagine a few people coming.
I will definately be in cosplay... Probably Yoiteor Raikou from Nabari no Ou, as they're the ones I want to do most atm.

Instead of just an anime day I think if we could get quite a few people coming we should just call it Dunedin's first mini convention!!!!!!!
Aww.....because Auckland gets ones like doujin overload >.<
Dunedin never have convention or anything like that, it's....sad sad

dunedin doesn't have one because it doesn't have the population base for one... it IS only about 120,000 people big...

Yeah, true true, still, this day seems like it's going to be fun :3 But then again it seems like it will just be like ordinary day in ADP ^_^;;;;

I got off the phone with Bill and he's given me a brief rundown on some of the things that will be going on at the event.

Basic details:

Entry costs $5,
Time: 10am to 5pm
Location: Dunedin Town Hall
Special Guest: Christopher Sabat (voice of Piccolo from DBZ)
Sponsored by Madman, therefore a Madman booth will be present selling merchandise.

Now on to the other details.

First off, he needs 5 volunteers to help run things during the day, being a volunteer doesn't mean you get a free pass, but you will be given some Madman merchandise and such for helping out. I'll help out since I'm the one in direct contact with him.

He's wondering how to advertise the event, like what radio stations to broadcast over, should we advertise through Channel 9 or something like that. There will also be posters made for the event and such.

Cosplay is fine, however there won't be a cosplay contest or anything like that, but Bill is open to suggestions on any sort of cosplay events we may like to run.

In addition to that, Bill is also open to suggestions to any kind of event to do as this is a purely experimental event to see if we can make this into a regular event.

That's pretty much it, I will post more details when they come by me.

Sounds fun! Maybe you can get some people to give out/put up posters around in schools with anime clubs, there is quite a few people at my school might be interested, I can help at that part :3
Maybe give out flyers in town in cosplay?
