Hi guys :"> :"> I'm Kate and a newbie to this forum as well as cosplay. I have done tonnes of researches on it but never tried out because I think I'm the only one who likes cosplay in my town (_ _") So I hope there is going to be a cosplay parade or contest that I can get involve with...

Oh yea, I'm not really a Kiwi, I'm an exchange student who has been here for ...I don't know, 3 years maybe (_ _")

Depends what town you're in :'> I bet there's people in your area who also cosplay but you just haven't met them yet >v< The people on the forums are pretty spread out throughout NZ~

Hmm, not sure if there are cosplayers in Nelson or Blenheim. Was in Picton for a while. But it wouldn't surprise me if some from Nelson travel to Armageddon in Christchurch or Wellington, but if they csoplay ... ?

The most well known contests and parades are at the Armageddon Expos, including Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, the new one in Hamilton? and Anime Expo in Dunedin. You can find them on armageddonexpo.
Also there are Sci-Fi conventions each year. The next one is in 2012? aucontraire 2?. Not sure, having trouble finding it. But the parent organisation is sffanz. There may be a steampunk contest/parade in Christchurch too?

Other random events are as posted in the CNZ regional sub-forums, like the Cosplay South Island one.

And I remember those beaches from every summer in my childhood. Fun. May even go through Nelson over christmas/new year.

I remember the sand crabs. And yeah Nelson is almost as sunny as Blenheim!

Also you mean those little shakes? The buildings which have survived undamaged are not likely to be damaged now. They are well built on solid ground. And a little shaking, meh ....

@highlander: I think there is a competition between blenhiem and nelson. I quite like blenheim thou, there was a firework show which was awesome since Nelson never had any Neutral
