Horror/supernatural/psychological/murder: Suggestions?

Buahaha~ Does anyone have any anime/manga they could recommend that fits into one or more of those catagories? I don't mind blood and stuff ^-^ Maybe something along the lines of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni or Hellsing or something?

Any suggestions?

I haven't seen it myself, but I hear Speed Grapher would fit that description (I have it but have yet to watch), Perfect Blue is a good movie that definitely fits the description.

Other series from the top of my head, would be Mononoke (not to be confused with Princess Mononoke) and the last 3 eps of the Ayakashi -Classic Japanese Horror- which is actually the first story arc of Mononoke (it was so popular they made Mononoke). Paranoia Agent and Ghost Hunt also come to mind. I also highly recommend Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) and the 2nd season of it Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori.

On the topic of murder, blood and stuff like that, you could check out Elfen Lied which is brilliant series with a rather bloody beginning and magnificent storytelling, Gantz is just bloody gory death and I love it but I recommend the manga over the anime as the anime stops where the manga gets better. There is also Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro which is Shonen Jump's fun mystery series as opposed to their serious one which was Death Note (again look for the manga) Himitsu - The Revelation is kinda interesting as well as it's crime solving by investigating the memories of the victim extracted from the brain to reveal the killer and motive.

~ Ghost hound, has a couple of scary moments, but the rest is very pyschological =P

it's not that scary... but it's got horror in the name! XD

Dragon's Head is rather blooody (what i've read of it...)

Uh... Uh...

The Tarot Cafe gets kind of dark and horror-ish in later volumes.
(Like the part where Belial was feeding peasants legs and head of dead people! x3)

And After School Nightmare is quite psychological, but at the same time rather spooky.

mmm, "Monster" is pretty psych/murder.
Otherwise Ive been enjoying "Garden of sinners" which is pretty much all of the above. Unfortunately only released up to ep 3 (1 hour ep's though) of 6.
"Bokurano" was also somewhat disturbing...

I completely forgot about Lain and Monster, both great series but also quite heavy on the information and also very hard to marathon due to just how completely serious it is (although every time I've watched Lain, it's been as a marathon)

Another series I highly recommend is Boogiepop Phantom, although the series can be difficult to follow due to the fact it is not told in chronological order yet each episode has some sort of link to the one after it.

GANTZ and MPD Psycho are absolutely amazing manga, but both are a little closer to the red in the INSANITY sprectrum. But hey, if you don't mind chicks being scalped and having plants sown into their brains, and aliens that look like spring onions being graphically murdered go for it! http://the-evil-empire.net is a great source for downloads, but they're all direct - no .torrents, unfortunately. Freesia has an interesting plot, though I haven't read it, and the DOGS series are just AWESOME. Definitely can't recommend them highly enough Very Happy

There's also a really notorious one called Suicide Circle - Jisatsu Ganbou? - which is apparently really amazing. And of course, Battle Royale, manga or live action movie. Seen Blood: the Last Vampire?

I like Spiral xD. Kinda crappy animation, but it's a Murder Mystery anime/manga. I recon the anime is better than the manga. Though the anime stops part way through the manga, which is annoying.
