I just finished my chobits atashi family

and i has pictures

with the polar fleese being so thick it was really hard sewing all the layers together (almost killed my sewing machine) but i managed to sew invisable zips in to the inside of the ears to make the ears in to little pockets for keys/wallet and survival sewing kits nodnod

just perfect for the con

And that's really practical, making the ears pockets- I dislike carrying bags around at cons... maybe I should put compartments/pockets into any future plushies/props.

^ Thank you! They're attached with a combination of craft glue and hand stitching. The stitching goes up the sides of the zips and along the sides of the foot where the vinyl was thin enough to get through.

Yay! We can have matching butt pouches! (even though mine's actually a side pouch, I think I'll call it a butt pouch now xD. Every time mum sees it she goes, "Awww! It's so cute!" xDDDD).

My progress:

Cut out lining for Lenalee ... Then realised I cut out of the pieces the wrong kind Dx (I made two different mock ups). WHERE DID MY REAL ONE GOOO? I have too much paper everywhere Dx And I can never do sleeves ... Made one sleeve and now I want to change it ;___; soobbb. I secretly suck at sewing 8D;;

Paying for my Starwars EpI Handmaiden Battle Dress Trim from a Rebel Legion Member who works in MJ Trims in the US, and gets a 50% discount on items in the morning!! Yay! 11yards for only $77NZD including postage!! Very Happy

The trim is usually about $8USD per yard and she got it for about $4USD Very Happy

I love it because this was one of the first Costumes in the Movie I want to make.

This is progress because it has taken me nearly 10 years to get THIS far...LOL Very Happy

I finally finished my poke bonnet protoype after like 2-3ish hours
I think i still need to make another test prototype sweatdrop

i think it might look too weird, i'm not sure

I asked my newish flatmates at the start when i was trying to shape it and ALL i got was a Very hurtfull shes INSANE look :sadcry:

I think i have the worst flatties for a cosplayer to have T^T
I get a "shes crazy, maybe if we give a general nod maybe she go away" look and not in a nice way, angry

anyway i has pictures, I hope the bonnet looks ok sweatdrop

i know a Regency poke bonnet is not a civil war bonnet but the pattern i have for a civil war bonnet is like SUPER crazy complex, and my glass mark cosplay isn't 100% 1865 historical so i figured if i can make one it might be a lovely prop thing to add to the cosplay whee
