A cosplay rant...

So, I got a bought cosplay in the mail today. I suppose buying them is a bit dodgey as you wont really be able to tell if it will fit you or not, measurements given or not.

It was a Kairi dress from Kingdom Hearts 2. The seller made the dress VERY short and the back of the dress is extremely loose. I have to wear shorts underneath my costume or everyone will be able to see my butt and other private areas if I wear this bloody thing in public.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF yeah, I'm kinda sad ;-;
I suppose I could get the seam taken in at the back, but I would still have to wear shorts underneath the dress. Wouldn't look quite right, you know? :C

The first thing you need to do is hit up the seller you bought it off. My friend bought me a FMA state alchemist uniform and the buttcape and pants for horribly tight on the waist, and considering the size of my waist, I don't understand why it would be too small! So I hit them up about it and the yremade the pants and buttcape and sent them to me. But they were the same size =.=''

Anyways, why the hell is it that short!? Seriously! >_>''

Itd probably be the best idea just pester them a bit, because a costume that wrongly sized is a bit muuuch.

Well her dress /is/ kinda short, but they should make it like, long enough to cover what it needs to :C

I wouldn't necessarily 'pester' them, but definitely go back to them about the measurements.
It's also worth re-checking the measurements you supplied them and comparing them to the garment. If you gave them the wrong measurements it's not entirely their fault. If you gave them the correct measurements, then it's definitely their fault.

I'm assuming it was a commissioned one, not buying an already made one?

Maybe check if they have a policy regarding unsatisfactory/ill-fitting garments? Some are fine with returns/replacing them, they just might make you pay for shipping, others aren't.

Yeah, it was commissioned ^^;
I emailed them with a bit of complaining. FFFFF, email failed to send.......eh >.<
At least I still have the nice cosplay I bought from Casey.....<:

Did you give them the right shoulder-to-bottom-of-dress length? Otherwise it makes no sense that it was made so short Dx. If you didn't give them that measurement then maybe they assumed you had a shorter torso Razz

Kairi's pretty ~skankeh~ but i think even SHE has some standards x.x

I hope you gave the right measurements otherwise it's your fault and it would be so embarassing D:

....someone bigger than you is less likely to be shorter x.x How did it come to a bigger circumference but shorter skirt?!

@Pixel: I had a similar experience once with my Euphemia cosplay, it was so big it was gaping at the back, too big in the boobs and didn't come with a petticoat even though I had been told it would come with one. Luckily I filled it out with a padded bra and managed to borrow a petticoat so it ended up look really good in the end.

Some advice that was given to me was to only buy from sellers that are recommended by other people. There are some very talented here that do wonderful jobs on commissions so perhaps consider one of our own? 8D

I'm glad that you were able to fix it, I hope you get a refund or some sort of compensation from the seller. 8/

You could always alter it, but the fact you brought it and you are not happy with it means that the seller failed at getting your measurements or whatever lol.
I think you should complain about it or send it back and ask for a refund and then by another one from another site?

It is very small and it looks like it is made for a little child. D;

Actually, I am getting one made for free ^^; Plus I don't have to send the one I have at the moment back xD
