Corset help~

So... I'm looking to make a corset (because I can lol) I've found a pattern (Simplicity 5726 -after a lot of looking >_<;) Before I start I was wondering about a few things: -is there a 'best' kind of fabric to use? Heavy/med/light wight? -cost of boning, can I get away with something cheaper or do I need to spend a bit more for quality? -any tips for sewing Corsets? For my vocaloid Len cosplay, to make it competition-worthy, I want to add LED lights to the armwarmers and headphones to make them light up 8D I have questions. How do i use them? How much are they? Where do i buy them? So, I know that contacts have been discussed before on here, but I was wondering how they rank in importance when it comes to entering the contests and the like? I'm allergic to contacts, but the character I want to cosplay has distinctive coloured eyes, so do I stand at a disadvantage if I enter and don't wear them?

Ok because I generally fail at my life. I have decided to attempt to make the clothes that Kyo wears in dir en grey's PV Yurameki (one of my all time favourites) because he looks like such a hot drag queen in it. Only problem is I know nothing about PVC which his clothes seem to be made of. Opinions please? Any advice on how to handle PVC? Or should I be using a completely fabric for this? Tekken 6 cosplay

So, I've been considering cosplaying Alisa Bosconovitch from Tekken 6: Bloodline rebellion, and I can already see she looks difficult, considering she grows wings, chainsaws and can disconnect her head, but it's the wig that stumps me, as each side is a different colour of pink. I'm not sure if dying one half of a wig is a good idea though, any ideas?
