So I'm planning on making Tidus' Brotherhood sword! (My first prop! Whoo!) I'm kind of a noob when it comes to dye materials...what is that coloured plastic stuff called? Is it fibre glass? & is it expensive? Where do you get it? =

I'm not sure if I want to use these as accessories or cosplay or both, but they just looked really cute. Here are some reference pics: Spoiler: I was thinking of using polystyrene/paper mache mix for the head, but I'm wondering about what to do for the ears other than paper mache and chopsticks. Oh, and a headband for the... headband. Any ideas?

Honestly I can't figure out how to go about getting this design right in a way that it's pink, hollow and slightly see through (so that it can glow). I know how to wire it to glow and everything but the design to be seethrough in the shape and pink has got me going through like everything >< 'tis the top bit btw Spoiler: and Spoiler:

hey peoples~ So I'm getting ready to make Illua for chchgeddon and all my props have some pretty awesome details and i figure sculpey could do the trick nicely ^_^ Picture: Spoiler: So few questions: 1) do you think scuply is a good idea? 2) If I was to use it on the sword (the lighter bits at the end) when I cooked it could it keep it's 3D shape or would I need to rest it on something in the oven? 3) would it work for the spikey ends on the book and the earings? 4) ...

I figured this would be the best place to put this, as most propds are supposed to be metal....

I have a few techniques in painting different metals that I don't mind sharing, ie:
Steel/Silver.
Tarnished Steel
Rusted Steel
Bronze/Brass
Tanished/Ancient Brass or Bronze
Gold
And Liquid Metal.

If people are interested I will be happy to post tutorials with step-by-step photos.

Okay. So I've seen a few of these made, but I have no idea how I'm going to make it. I'm hoping to have it sorted soon so that I can buy supplies whilst out in town tomorrow. As the subject says, I am looking at making a set of wings for an original-character cosplay at auckygeddon.

The wings when complete will hopefully be on a similar scale to those of angel from x-men 3.

I am looking for suggestions for a sturdy, but light material to use as the basic frame for the wings (have not decided if I will make them expandable or not)

as for the feathers for the wings I will either use black duck or goose feathers.

Helping a friend make Belphegor's tiara~ He's thinking of using polymer clay / Sculpey, but I'm not sure how to get the tiara's shape... And looking at different images on the net... It looks kinda like a circlet? While in others only the front can be seen while the rest is hidden in the hair. - So I'm wondering if I should just make the front and glue combs / clips to the sides or make a full circlet thing... I'm hoping people could give me tips / ideas on how to make it? And/Or offer ...

Hey there CNZ!
I've just decided to make a scythe to take to the halloween party coming up, only problem being that I've got no idea of any famous scythe designs, Can anyone reccommend one they'd like to see at the halloween party?
Right now the only ones that come to mind are Soul from soul eater and Marluxia from KH2's scythes, but i'm always up for ideas.
