Simultaneously keen and dreading? Very Happy

I'm going to be *around* due to thesis, but availability may be questionable, due to thesis.

We could make the Ball part of the CosConNZ I accidentally mapped out during Nana-con (while Boyfriend and Brother pretended to commit suicide repeatedly with tableware at the thought of being involved in a repeat of Nanacon. Hmmm. Intrigue.

Didn't Nanacon take 3-4 years of prep work...? I like my sanity where it is, thanks! I just about saw you lose yours! We could definitely do it in years to come though - it might work better doing them separately at first, so we know exactly how much work is involved in each one. We'd love to have you and your organising genius on board though Very Happy

Well we don't have 1500 people. CNZ has just over 500, of which I reckon less than half would probably come (even if they had ages to prep) - combo of apathy, cash-flow issues, parental consent and organisational failure. So 250 people can probably be organised in 1-2 years? Very Happy

ARGH! Stop making come up with perfectly reasonable reasons why this is possible!!

If you ever want to make the balls sister events, i'd be keen for that~? A ball each year, skipping between wellington and Auckland? Of course you'd still be organisers of your one and we ours, but we could compare notes and you'd be welcome to give ideas/take ideas/advice etc.
But by the sounds of it you're aiming big~ Maybe this isn't such a good idea? I hope you get there~ 8D

I would love to be an organiser~ But being in Auckland kind ruins that idea, not to mention I didn't go to the last one. OHOHOHO~

Hehe. I'm so sussing out the aucks one for ideas :3 I like the idea of them being sister events, and this would let us have one per year without stressing out organisers - hooray! If we make any big purchases that can be re-used, we can share those around too. Like backdrop stand for photos... ninja

I think that not combining the two at this point is the way to go - when we have an idea of how much work each one requires, we can think about merging them. But honestly, I think they should be separate - timed in conjunction with each other maybe, but I don't think they should be run by one and the same group.

I guess I needed to make an organisers subforum anyway and I thought it'd be interesting to get your peoples input when you felt like looking through.

I did think it might've been a help to you guys to keep track too, but I guess that's because I've only ever organised online, we didn't generally have meetings for things like ACP and H!ACP.
